FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is NatHERS?

NatHERS is the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme. It provides a consistent method for assessing the thermal performance of eligible residential dwellings.

What is BASIX?

BASIX is the NSW Building Sustainability Index. It sets sustainability requirements for residential development, including water and energy efficiency and thermal performance.

What is the minimum NatHERS rating required?

The applicable minimum rating depends on the project and current requirements. We assess the dwelling against the requirements applicable to the project.

What happens if the required rating is not achieved?

We identify areas that may need adjustment and can work through the relevant design inputs with the project team before final certification.

What information do I need to provide?

Requirements vary by project. We provide a project-specific information checklist covering the plans, specifications and other information required for the assessment.

What is Whole of Home?

Whole of Home considers the energy use of a dwelling's major services and appliances as part of the applicable residential energy efficiency requirements.
